A short history
Second period: 1986-
The second period began with the approval, by the Plenary of the Diputació of Lleida, on the 28th of January 1986, of the ordering that governed the IEI.
The Diputació when proposing the reform manifested its political disposition of restructuring the IEI and integrating it to the new political and social situation that came from the establishment of democracy.
The reform transforms the character, aspect and orientation of the previous
IEI. This reform was orientated, basically, in three ways:
A change of image: the symbols and the logo of the IEI were changed and a number of steps addressed to modify the services and the outdoor attention were adopted.
An inner change: reorganisation of the staff, delimitation of competencies and responsibilities.
An external relaunching: intensification of external activities.
With this reform process, the IEI that was born in 1986 was more dynamic, democratic and closer to the society’s feelings.
The statutes of 1986 had undergone different changes. The result was new regulations: the new statutes of the Foundation were approved on the 7th of April 1993..
