Servei d'Arqueologia

The Archaeological Services of the Public Foundation Institut d'Estudis Ilerdencs performs research programmes and studies, mainly, from the Bronze Age to the Medieval Ages. It also focuses on the diffusion of the geoarchaelogy.

Service collection:

The Archaeological Service gathers all the archaeological material from the different sites realised by the institution from 1958. Basically:

  • Material from the Bronze Age:
    Genó (Aitona); Incineration necropolis of Colomina (Gerp); The Pedrera (Vallfogona de Balaguer-Térmens).
    Material from the Iberian Age:
    Gebut (Soses)
    Material from the Paleochristian Age:
    Necropolis of the Railway Station (Lleida)
    Material from the Visigothic Culture:
    Basílica of Bobalà

Services for the visitor:

  • The elaboration of projects for the regions that request it.
    The realisation of reports about heritage.
    Library service and bibliographic information about archaeology.
    The organisation of training activities.
